Juan Martinez, 46, of Bridgeport, was arrested Tuesday and charged with risk of injury to a child after the juvenile reported the incident, which took place in 2015-16, to her mother, said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department.
Police said that while the girl, who was 5-year-old at the time, was staying with her grandmother, Martinez would show her pornography on his phone while the grandmother was in the shower and try and get the child to touch his penis, but the girl refused, Harris reported.
The victim reported that Martinez then masturbated in front of her before leaving, Harris added.
Investigators were able to corroborate these facts and applied for a warrant for Martinez' arrest, Harris said.
Martinez is being held on $100,000 bond.
